Journey
Your next money decision is a place to begin.
You may be thinking about your family’s future, learning how money works, trying to understand a number or looking after the people in your organisation. Effer’s four Journeys offer different ways to begin, with one shared purpose: Becoming Financially Able.
You can begin before the whole path is clear.
Four journeys. One purpose.
Start with what matters to you now.
You do not need a complete financial plan or a perfectly formed question to begin. A decision you are trying to understand is enough.
A Journey is a way into Effer’s work. Each starts with a different need and connects understanding with real choices. You can read, explore your numbers or begin a conversation. There is no fixed order to follow.
A decision about your future
Build Wealth
01
A decision worth slowing down.
A first salary. A family balancing a home loan and school fees. A business owner thinking about money beyond the business. A couple considering life after work. Each situation brings a different question about wealth.
The Build Wealth Journey begins with your life: your goals, responsibilities, concerns and the time available. An unhurried conversation and useful decision instruments help you examine possibilities and the assumptions behind them.
Begin here when a financial choice needs more thought than a number alone can provide. The aim is a clearer understanding of the decision, with ownership remaining with you.
Understanding that carries into life
Learn
02
Learning can start with a Story.
Knowing a financial term is a beginning. Recognising what it means in an everyday choice takes practice. The Learn Journey brings money into familiar situations through Stories, examples, reflection and practical education.
For adults, Effer’s Stories offer a place to start reading and thinking. For families, the current children’s course is for ages 12 to 14 and explores earning, saving, spending, sharing and compounding. Current batch dates and fees are available on enquiry.
Begin here when you want to build your understanding, or help a child develop a thoughtful relationship with money. You can start with a Story before enquiring about a course.
Explore your numbers
Smart Tools
03
A scenario is a question to explore.
A number becomes more useful when you can see what changes it. A longer timeline, a different monthly contribution or a higher future cost can change the question you thought you were asking.
Effer’s free smart tools help you examine your own scenarios. The Risk & Horizon Profiler explores risk and time. The Wealth Journey Simulator lets you compare possible paths. Goal Builder connects a life goal with its future cost and funding assumptions. Retirement Explorer helps you examine a retirement range.
For a specific calculation, Free Financial Calculators provides a separate library linked from Effer. Use the numbers to ask better questions. A projection depends on its inputs and assumptions; it is not a prediction or a product recommendation.
Financial ability at work
For Organisations
04
A conversation the whole team can follow.
Money questions do not stay outside the workplace. Employees may be thinking about family commitments, borrowing, saving or a future they are unsure how to prepare for.
This Journey is for HR, learning and development teams, founders and leaders who want to bring practical financial awareness into their organisation. Effer’s sessions explain concepts in plain language for people with different levels of financial knowledge.
The current format is a non-sales financial awareness session, typically lasting 45 to 75 minutes depending on the audience and depth. These sessions are currently free of cost. Contact Effer to discuss your audience and confirm the current arrangements.
The thinking behind every Journey
Know. Think. Decide. Grow.
Whichever path you choose, the purpose is to make financial understanding more useful in your life. You may return to a question as your responsibilities, priorities or circumstances change.
01.
Know
Understand the relevant ideas in plain language.
02.
Think
Connect them with your responsibilities, priorities and time.
03.
Decide
Consider the assumptions and trade-offs behind a choice.
04.
Grow
Review what you learn as life and circumstances change.
No fixed order
One question can lead to another.
A Story may help you recognise a decision you have been postponing. A smart tool may reveal an assumption worth discussing. A workplace session may give someone the confidence to start learning on their own.
You can move between Journeys as your question becomes clearer. If you are unsure where to begin, write to Effer about the decision or situation on your mind.
Before you begin
A few useful answers.
What are Effer’s four Journeys?
Effer’s four Journeys are Build Wealth, Learn, Smart Tools and For Organisations. They offer ways to think through financial choices, build understanding, explore scenarios and bring financial awareness into the workplace.
Which Effer Journey should I start with?
Start with Build Wealth if you want to discuss a financial decision, Learn if you want to strengthen your understanding, Explore Tools if you want to examine your numbers, or For Organisations if you are arranging financial awareness for a team. You can move between Journeys.
Do I need to be an investor to begin?
You do not need to be an investor to begin an Effer Journey. Learning about money, discussing family priorities and understanding a future goal are also useful starting points.
Are Effer’s Journeys free?
Effer’s Stories and smart tools are free to access. Children’s course fees are available on enquiry. Workplace financial awareness sessions are currently listed as free. Contact Effer to confirm the scope and any fees for a Build Wealth engagement before proceeding.
Does a smart tool tell me what to invest in?
Effer’s smart tools help you explore scenarios and understand assumptions. Their outputs are educational and do not tell you which product to buy or guarantee an investment outcome.
Can I begin without booking a conversation?
You can begin by reading an Effer Story or exploring a free smart tool. A conversation is available when you want to discuss the question further.
Every decision matters
Begin with the question you have.
You do not have to know the whole path yet. Tell us what you are thinking about, or take a little time to explore a Story or a smart tool.
